Its early volcanic deposits are estimated at more than 840,000 years old and are part of the Lily Formation (about 2.9 million to 840,000 years ago).

Mount Rainier is an active volcano located in the southeast of Seattle, Washington. It last erupted in 1894. It is a part of the Cascade Range and also the highest mountain in Washington with a height of 13,211 feet. This range is a long stretch of volcanic mountains around 800 miles.
Mount Rainier is a 14,410-foot- (4,392-meter-) high active volcano whose last eruption was more than 100 years ago. The park covers 369 square miles (957 square kilometers). The peak of Mount Rainier was sculpted by ice, and some two dozen named glaciers and a number of smaller patches of permanent ice and snow remain around the summit area.
