The difference is that you will need a Canon IFC-100U interface cable or a USB-C to USB-C 3.1 Gen2 cable. I recommend getting the ANKER PowerLine II cable as an alternative to Canon’s IFC-100U interface cable.

The Canon USB Power Adapter PD-E1 was specially developed for the Canon EOS R mirrorless camera and facilitates the charging of the LP-E6N battery while it is in the camera and connects via USB Type-C cable. This adapter is only compatible with LP-E6N batteries; it does not charge the LP-E6 battery.
