Completely right that Nalgenes don’t keep liquids cold or hot all that much, but they are the right choice when you need a good amount of water and may be in an area where the bottle may get dropped, rolled, stepped on, etc. (e.g. a Phish show, camping, hiking) Also, at least for the wide-mouth, easy to add a ton of ice and super easy to clean.
