I am building a Napoleonic collection but my goodness this sets the standard. This is a visually impressive collection – and at 54mm too – but most impressive of all are your levels of passion and dedication.
Does anyone know a company that sells 32 fig battalions in 6mm, preferably on 4 figure strips? An alternative would be 24 fig batallions on 3 fig strips. I want to have 4x 20x20mm bases per batallion for maximum rule flexibility.
For figures I use AB Miniatures for my 15mm (although they are sold as 18mm), you'll get them through Eureka miniatures in the UK. Also Old Glory do their Blue Moon range which fit with them and Museum Miniatures are the same.
Going into Napoleonics. What is the most played ruleset (and miniature size) and the best ruleset (and miniature size) for Napoleonic gaming. I am building an Bavarian Ally army (because I am from Bavaria) and got me some models from HaT (20mm/ 1:72) Archived post.
Piano Wargames. 28mm, with fairly realistic proportions. They also do white metal models. So far mainly covers German states- Württemberg, Hessen-Darmstadt, Würzburg, Bavaria, and Austria. They also do troops from the Tyrolean Rebellion, and some miscellaneous civilians, bandits, and cattle.
I have seen many posts in this sub about Napoleonic wargaming at 6mm or 10mm, so I am curious what people suggest for a new wargamer just starting out in a rural area with no local gaming clubs within an hour drive.
Starting with a dozen skirmishers per side would allow you to play a few test games with something like Sharpe Practice and provide you figures that can be used in larger games without rebasing.
