The National Museum of History (NMH; Chinese: 國立歷史博物館; pinyin: Guólì Lìshǐ Bówùguǎn) is located in the Nanhai Academy in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. After the Republic of China government moved to Taiwan, the National Museum of History was the first museum to be established in Taiwan.
As a national-level museum established in post-war Taiwan, the Museum has actively expanded its initiatives under every director since its opening. Keeping pace with the times, it has followed a historical trajectory of creation, development, transformation, and modernization.
On the 2nd floor, Taiwan history from prehistoric times, colonial period, Japanese time, post-war period and modern time are well displayed through life-sized wax figure, videos, sounds and a simulated streetscape of Taipei during Japanese time.
