27 Ιουν 2017 · So I have started making knives/hatchets with 1084 steel from New Jersey Steel Baron and I have heard stories of heat treating where the knife becomes so brittle that it can break before tempering it.

15 Μαρ 2019 · Yep, Aldo Bruno, the New Jersey Steel Baron himself, a great supporter of our community. A quick breakdown of the steels mentioned: 1084: relatively easy to forge, dead nuts simple to heat treat. Cannot be used for hamon. Well, you can get a line, but not the activity of a true hamon.
30 Ιουλ 2016 · Posted August 1, 2016. Looking to get some 1075 or 1084 steel from Baron.. Been checking their website for a few weeks and been out of stock, sent a couple inquiries by e-mail as to when it will be in stock again but no reply back..
