The treatment goals for Morton's neuroma are to minimise pain and improve function. Interventions for Morton's neuroma may be nonsurgical or surgical (involving an incision). A common term used in both nonsurgical and surgical treatments is neurolysis, which has multiple meanings.
18 Νοε 2016 · The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted a Fast Track designation to a new treatment for Morton’s neuroma, a nerve disorder in the foot that can cause serious neuropathic pain. Currently referred to as CNTX-4975, this prospective nonopioid drug is under manufacture by Centrexion Therapeutics.

The current literature indicates surgical interventions by either neurolysis or neurectomy appear to trend towards greater incidences of complete pain relief and complete patient satisfaction compared to injection treatment.

This includes the use of noninvasive methods such as metatarsal pads, shoe modifications, physical therapy, ice, neuromodulating medications such as gabapentin and pregabalin, NSAIDS and TENS units.
