16 Δεκ 2023 · The primary goal of this page is to set the record straight (or at least firmly crooked) on how to install all the great mods found on the Nexus into the Game Pass version of Starfield. Hopefully this guide will curb all the hiccups and wondering if it’s done right.
What I've read on r/skyrimmods in the past day or two, is that it's really locked up and you aren't going to be able to use any mod manager with them. There will be no SKSE (in your case, OBSE, I guess). In practice it's just playing the console version of the game on PC. No added modding capabilities.
Most games now are compatible with the advanced installation feature, meaning you can install them to a customer folder like c:/xboxgames. If you have not enabled this I would recommend you go to the xbox app settings and set a custom install folder. This will give you access to limited modding capability as you can access this folder.

In this state, none of the game files can be modified by your user account. You will need to enable modding in the Xbox app by clicking the "Enable Mods" button shown below.
I personally have set up a copy of the Game Pass installed version of Skyrim and I am using mods with it. You have to tell it you are using mods in the XBox application and it sets up a special directory in C:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\Skyrim Special Edition (PC) where mods can go.
