The Niagara Escarpment Commission has 17 members (Commissioners) appointed by Order-in-Council. The Commission meets monthly to consider development permits and land use proposals, policy items, and proposed amendments to the Niagara Escarpment Plan.

The Niagara Escarpment Commission (NEC) has implemented a hybrid meeting solution for scheduled Commission meetings using Microsoft Teams web conferencing services.
