13 Απρ 2009 · The 1000D/XS came out in June of last year. All nikon did was replace their lower rung entry level mode. which is paired against the 1000D/XS. The 500D/T1i is paired against the d90 not the d5000. I look for the 1100D/2000D to come out with the XSi updated 12MP sensor and 720p 30 fps video at 3fps and no crippled RAW burst mode like the 1000D had.
Pictures per second. Depending on what you are shooting the FPS, or frames/pictures per second, can definitely be of interest. Nikon D5000 can shoot up to 4 pictures per seconds and Canon EOS Rebel XSi can shoot up to 3,5 pictures per seconds. Ability to record movies.

Since you already have a couple of Canon EOS lenses, I would recommend you take a look at the Canon Digital Rebel XSi. It’s sort of the Canon counterpart to Nikon’s D5000. It also has video and you will be able to use your lenses with it.
