13 Απρ 2009 · The 1000D/XS came out in June of last year. All nikon did was replace their lower rung entry level mode. which is paired against the 1000D/XS. The 500D/T1i is paired against the d90 not the d5000. I look for the 1100D/2000D to come out with the XSi updated 12MP sensor and 720p 30 fps video at 3fps and no crippled RAW burst mode like the 1000D had.
I have enough to go up to the Canon T1i/ and Nikon D5000 range. And no, I'm not looking at either because of the movie mode. Its a nice extra, but that does not decide anything - I'd like still photo performance. There is a very good review of the T1i here: T1i Review.

22 Ιουν 2009 · The Nikon D5000 is a new 12.3 megapixel DSLR camera that can record HD movies at 1280x720 pixels / 30fps with sound. A 2.7 inch vari-angle LCD monitor makes it easier to compose your shots from difficult angles, while the extensive ISO range of 100-6400 should cope with most lighting conditions.
The Nikon D5000 is exactly the kind of digital SLR most photographers should be buying. It offers great performance, excellent image quality, solid features and a couple bonuses – HD video and the tilt-swivel LCD.
