  1. 12 Ιουλ 2022 · You can't expect to have the same oil pressure throughout the RPM range of the engine. When at idle, the pressure will be low, when at 3000 it will be higher. Not in a direct line, not ever-increasing, but higher RPM will always have higher oil pressure than lower, up to the limit of the pump.

At cold start, the pressure registers at 60, and once warmed up, it will dip down to around 28 at an idle. Is that normal? What should the pressures read at various temperatures and RPM's?

  6. 25 Μαρ 2015 · The best way to check this is remove the sender and install a temperary oil pressure gauge to see the actual pressure. If that's good it is most likely a stepper motor in your cluster is bad. There's a DIY on this if you want to do this.

  7. 1 Μαρ 2012 · Everyone with a Duramax has been concerned with the Duramax oil pressure at sometime. As long as it has 12-15 lbs at idle-- nothing to worry about. The turbo boost has nothing to do with oil pressure-- it is the engine speed, oil viscosity, and oil temperature that will affect the oil pressure.
