12 Φεβ 2012 · Have any of you ever played a Norman guitar? It is a Canadian brand of guitars. I picked one up and played one the other day and was surprised by how similar they sound to a Taylor, but cost a fraction of the price.
I bought this guitar used for $350 Canadian with a sound-hole pickup and a hardshell case. It sounds great, deep and not tinny at all. It is the best sounding guitar in it's price range hands down.…
1 Οκτ 2003 · The Norman (B20/12) is a great playing and sounding guitar. I won't agree that it stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Martin or the Guild in playability or sound. I do agree that it comes close and, for the money, I would send anyone off to try a Norman product before they consider the higher priced makes.
24 Σεπ 2015 · The entry-level Norman Protege range features nine dreadnoughts, including two cutaways and one 12-string, and the whole range is electrified - sporting Fishman's trusty Presys under-saddle/ preamp system. Our B18 is very cleanly built with the unusual pairing of solid cedar for the top and laminated wild cherry for the back and sides.
A parlor- (also spelled parlour-) style guitar is easy to spot because of its smaller body. This gives the guitar a unique, punchy midrange tone and makes it easier to play and transport. Early American blues and folks artists preferred them for these reasons — plus they often were more affordable than dreadnoughts.

It's a slightly trimmer collection, with just six models offered - five dreadnoughts, including two cutaways, and this lone folk-size, which is also the one to come with a slotted headstock and no pickguard.
