Resources for Nursing Students. A. Community Mental Health Line. All College of Nursing students have access to a mental health support line provided through the University of Iowa Student Life and CommUnity. This is available to help nursing students ameliorate their stress during the fall and spring semesters.
As a nursing major, study abroad will provide you with firsthand experience of another culture that will broaden your understanding of humans and healthcare in the U.S. and abroad. Nursing students are encouraged to choose from a wide range of study abroad experiences.
The college's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is approved by the Iowa Board of Nursing. When you graduate, you will qualify to take the licensure examination required for practice as a registered nurse in Iowa. The college also offers an RN-BSN program for currently licensed nurses who want to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing.
The Nursing Clinical Education Center (NCEC) is a joint venture of the nursing department and the UI College of Nursing. Classes are taught by practicing clinicians, nurse educators, and faculty.
