8 Δεκ 2021 · If you received a refund, offset, or credit of New York State income taxes or MCTMT, the amount on your New York State Form 1099-G, Statement for Recipients of State Income Tax Refunds, may differ from your actual refund you received because all or part of your overpayment was: credited to estimated tax for a later year.
1099-G Form Breakdown. The information on the 1099-G tax form is provided as follows: Box 1: Unemployment Compensation - This box includes the dollar amount paid in benefits to you during the calendar year. Box 2: Adjustments - This box includes cash payments and income tax refunds used to pay back overpaid benefits.
File Form 1099-G, Certain Government Payments, if, as a unit of a federal, state, or local government, you made payments of unemployment compensation; state or local income tax refunds, credits, or offsets; reemployment trade adjustment assistance (RTAA) payments; taxable grants; or agricultural payments.
Select the “Unemployment Services” button on the following screen: From the Unemployment Insurance Benefits Online page (below), under the “Get your NYS 1099-G” section, select the year you want in the NYS 1099-G drop-down menu (box with an arrow), and then select the “Get Your NYS 1099-G” button.
Because you received unemployment compensation payments of $10 or more in 2023, New York State is required to report those payments to the Internal Revenue Service, and give you Form 1099-G by January 31, 2024. Unemployment compensation includes: Unemployment Insurance payments. Federal Extended Benefits payments.
