Over 80% of city government positions require you to take and pass a civil service exam. Standardized testing helps ensure the hiring and promotion processes are fair, competitive, and result in the City hiring the most qualified candidate for the job. DCAS typically administers over 180 exams to more than 110,000 candidates on an annual basis.
Computer-based Testing & Applications Centers (CTACs): The CTACs make available to the public year-round access to computer-administered exams for City jobs in the following locations: Our centers are open Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm, except for City holidays.
