Pistol/revolver recertification continuation form. Attach this form to your Pistol/revolver license recertification form.

Assault Weapon(s) Registration. For your convenience, this entire process, including review of your currently registered assault weapons, can be completed online at https://troopers.ny.gov/Firearms/. When complete, select the "Submit" button, on the bottom right corner.
Model. Frame Only Caliber(s) Serial Number. Email completed form by clicking the SUBMIT button. Your recertification status can be checked at https://firearms.troopers.ny.gov/pprecert/. Your status will be “No recertification on file” until your information has been entered.
New York requires registration of handguns. Long guns do not need to be registered. It is illegal to own an unregistered handgun. It costs $3 to register a firearm. The firearms are registered with the permit to purchase, the sale information, and weapons serial number are recorded.
