Bachelor of Science in physics: The B.S. degree in physics will be granted to students completing the following, in addition to the standard college requirements. All courses required for the B.A. major, including electives.
Members of the department carry out research in the fields of astrophysics, biophysics, cosmology, elementary particle physics, gravitation, hard and soft condensed matter physics, and statistical physics.
Acceptable Advanced Electives in Physics for the BA and BS Majors. The courses below are offered in either the fall or spring term (not both), and some are not offered every year. Please see course descriptions in this Bulletin for prerequisites and frequency of offering.

27 Νοε 2024 · The core of the program is 32 credits of required physics courses and 31 credits of required math courses. Students pursuing the dual major must also take an additional 8 credits of physics and math electives. 22 credits are reserved for STEM & free electives and independent study courses.
However, the Physics B.S. major includes 4 courses (PHYS 1150, MATH 1201, CHEM 1100, CHEM 2100) that also satisfy Pathways requirements. Therefore, students majoring in Physics B.S. only need to complete 30 additional Pathways credits.
