Adoption appointments for cats and other animals are generalized and made to allow the potential adopter to see the animals, of the desired species, available at OC Animal Care on the day of the appointment and to visit with a select few in order to make an adoption decision.
Complete the Adoption Process with an Adoption Counselor Once you have completed your visit, you will be directed to our Adoption Center to complete the adoption process. You must pay all applicable fees and will be provided necessary paperwork.

Throughout February 2023, the shelter is waiving adoption fees for dogs 25 pounds and over, guaranteeing adopters a date for Valentine’s Day and a best friend for life.
The standard adoption fees are $80 for dogs and $50 for cats. The shelter often offers promotions which may further reduce these prices. The fee to surrender a pet to the shelter is $40. The fees for reclaiming a pet for the shelter vary.
