29 Μαρ 2018 · We drill offensive rebounding techniques regularly in practice. We set a goal to rebound at least 35 percent of our missed shots. If we miss 20 shots, we want at least seven offensive rebounds. These are some of the offensive rebounding drills we use in practice.
We do that with a combination of rebounding drills, strength training (through weight lifting), and by developing a rebounding mindset. The following rebounding drill is highly competitive, and it helps players improve on the offensive and defensive glass.
Sticks. “Sticks”. Stick is gripped by both players. Work push, pull and different maneuvers. One player (2) works as a defender attempting to put off the O-Line player. Keep chest up, peck on quad and play with good leverage. Offensive Line.
SYSTEM RULES: STEP 1: Front Foot on Shot. All 5 Players must step forward as the shot goes up. Forward motion towards your matchup. No back pedaling! STEP 2: Tag the High Side. 'Tag' the player guarding you. Initiate contact. Guard who guards you. Make contact with the “high hip”
