Since its inception, USA Softball has continued to establish uniform softball rules and regulations for the sport across the country. USA Softball began providing digital copies of its Official Rulebook in 2020. Below are downloadable files.
Section 1. – the highlights of the rule are summarized below: The Official Bat shall be no more than 34 inches long nor exceed 38 ounces in weight. It shall be free of burs, dents, cracks, sharp edges and audible rattles and show no signs of excessive wear. The official bat shall not be more than 2.250 inches in diameter at its largest part.
One of the primary purposes of ASA’s official playing rules (including its equipment standards) and ASA’s Code is to promote competitive balance and to preserve the integrity of the sport of amateur softball.
12 Φεβ 2009 · The organization’s objectives include promoting safety and establishing uniform softball rules and regulations. They set the playing rules for fastpitch and slow pitch softball in professional leagues, collegiate competition and adult and youth recreational play.
RULE 1. The Playing Field and Equipment ART 1. The Softball Field Sec 1. The softball field may or may not be enclosed by a fence, shall be free of any obstructions in fair territory , and include an infield diamond. Sec 2. The field shall include a Home Plate which is 17 inches wide, 17 inches long
