11 Φεβ 2019 · If the flat wire is in good shape and you can run it all the way to the TV, this extremely inexpensive part will let you convert it to a push-on connector that goes right onto the antenna connection. Wrap the wires around the screws, tighten the screws, and you’re done.
17 Οκτ 2017 · Here’s the simple answer: coaxial cable is better. Coaxial cable is much more resistant to interference. It’s more durable, too. Not that the old flat wire is unsafe or anything — if you’re using it now there’s no reason to stop. If you’re wiring a new antenna though, you’ll find that the connection you get from that antenna is always coax.

Believe it or not, the short answer is “no.” To be honest, the flat wire is a really good fit for an antenna since its impedance characteristics (an important measure of how well signals “flow” through a wire” is fairly similar to that of the antenna itself.
Get a 300ohm to 75ohm transformer, disconnect the 4-wire lead and use the screws to connect the 2-wire 300ohm antenna leads to the screws and the spade connectors from the transformer. Then connect a length of coaxial cable from the transformer to the TV.

For TV wiring, it converts old 300-ohm twin-lead wire to new 75-ohm coaxial wire. If you have existing twin-lead wiring (in good condition) run to your TV, you can just use a balun where the twin-lead ends and a short length of coax to connect it to the TV.
