What’s up with this behavior? He has no issues during the day and can regularly go several hours before being let outside. He pees just about every night and it’s starting to warp the floor and make our house smell like urine. We’ve resorted to crating him at night with a large tarp under the crate.
My dog just turned 7 and started peeing in the House only when she slept. While she was asleep, the muscle in her bladder would relax causing her to pee and then she wake up from being uncomfortable. Our vet gave her some medicine but it made her pant really badly.

It’s possible the owner is not noticing. Diapers are a viable solution, but I would also recommend the dog owner get their dog checked for any infections and obtain updated blood work to rule out any further health issues outside of senior incontinence.
