Sneaky behavior such as lying and stealing are some of the hardest issues for parents to deal with. When your child lies and sneaks around, it can feel like a betrayal and begins to feel like a moral issue. You start to question their character. You may start to dislike your child.
If any of these apply to your child, it is important to talk with your child's healthcare provider: An older child who steals and does not feel bad about it. A child who constantly steals. A child who also has other behavioral problems. Children older than age 3 should be confronted with any lying or stealing.
