The European Commission's definition of open education is: "a way of carrying out education, often using digital technologies. Its aim is to widen access and participation to everyone by removing barriers and making learning accessible, abundant, and customisable for all.
Curriculum may refer to the range of courses from which students choose, the subject areas, or specific learning programs that include teaching, learning, and assessments for a course of study. Curriculum may also described as “curriculum guides” by teachers and administrators, and the “work plans.” (English, 2000).
Open curriculum An approach based on the principle that education and the curriculum should be active, flexible, fluid, and individualized. The primary concern of open education is to facilitate meeting educational goals while fulfilling the unique, individual potential of each learner.
