First up, the low-key best combat Shards are Ultra Grapple and Ultra Bash. Ultra Grapple lets you grapple directly to enemies, dealing damage and unlocking new routes.
Will of the Wisps made combat more engaging, added systems that gave you different ways to upgrade Ori, and added sidequests and different kind of challenges that made it more exciting to explore, because you were never too sure what you were gonna get.
So far it doesn't live up to the original at its best, but Ori and the Blind Forest is a somewhat uneven game, and so far Will of the Wisps feels better overall. (By the way, Ori and the Blind Forest at its best is the Ginzo Tree. One of the best gaming sequences of all time.)
