‘Origins of the Cold War in Europe, 1945–50’ focuses on the fragile alliance formed between the USA and USSR during the war, and its inevitable breakdown in the following years. Both nations were able to subdue their antipathy during World War II in the face of a common adversary, but even this limited cooperation evaporated after the war.
