6 Φεβ 2023 · What is ORTHO EVRA? ORTHO EVRA is a birth control patch. It contains two female hormones, an estrogen called ethinyl estradiol, and a progestin called norelgestromin. Hormones from ORTHO EVRA get into the blood stream and are processed by the body differently than hormones from birth control pills.
ORTHO EVRA® is a combination transdermal contraceptive patch with a contact surface area of 20 cm2. It contains 6.00 mg norelgestromin (NGMN) and 0.75 mg ethinyl estradiol (EE).

The birth control patch prevents pregnancy by stopping sperm from joining with an egg (which is called fertilization). Like most birth control pills, the patch has the hormones estrogen and progestin — these are similar to the hormones our bodies make naturally.
