10 Δεκ 2021 · Introduced in Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos (affiliate link), the Owlin is an owl-like humanoid. Similar to the Aarakocra, the Owlin can fly nonmagically, but the Owlin trades a bit of the Aarakocra’s speed and the Aarakocra’s largely useless claws for several other useful racial traits.
Races sorted by their lifespan. I excluded UA content and Plane Shift races. - There is no information on Owlins lifespan. - Aarakocras have the shortest lifespan of d&d races. - Kobolds can live up to 120 years, whereas Tortles only to 50 years. Owlin start small and grow with age, standing from about 3-4 feet in their youth, and 5-6 feet in their adult and elderly life (though some elderly Owlin shrink to 3-4 feet in height). Regardless, you can choose to be Small or Medium sized when you select this race.
Seems weird given that most humanoid races mature in the late teens, and most full orcs live to around 60. They split the difference between orcs and humans, but being part orc they’re bad at math and did it the wrong way.
