20 Ιουν 2023 · A pulpotomy is a very safe procedure and there are no serious risks associated with it. Pulpotomies should not be performed if the pulp in the root (the radicular pulp) is not vital. That means that the pulp there should not be infected and should still be healthy at the time of the procedure.
Rescue analgesia was given according to the postoperative pain scores; however no local anesthesia was performed intraoperatively in any of the patients. This may be the cause of the high pain scores observed in pulpotomy cases, which is a painful dental procedure.

30 Ιουν 2020 · Abstract. This equivalence, randomized, clinical trial aimed to compare the postoperative pain of root canal therapy (RCT) with pulpotomy with mineral trioxide aggregate (PMTA) or calcium-enriched mixture (PCEM) in permanent mature teeth.
Practical Implications. PULP showed a significantly higher incidence of no pain and a lower incidence of mild and moderate pain than single-visit RCT. Clinical decisions for RCT or PULP should not be based on differences in postoperative pain.
