Views of the Pictured Rocks cliffs can be had to the east, and the area is also popular with sea kayakers.
The trail winds through the forest alongside Miners River to the beautiful Miners Beach on the shores of Lake Superior. The trail is well-maintained but be prepared for rocks, roots, and sand. The trailhead has the Raymond F. Clevenger Visitor Information Center, large parking, and restrooms.
