Plot Summary Paradise Lost opens with Satan and his fellow fallen angels waking up in Hell. They’ve recently fallen there after defeat in Heaven. They gather together and build a fortress, a council they call Pandemonium. Inside the council, they plan how they can fight back and defeat God.
