DISCUSSION. There was a post on here about a year ago by u/konkeydong7 regarding Paragard and I wanted to add mine/have an open discussion. (Comments are disabled on the OG post). I got my Paragard in 2019 because 1) emergency contraception and 2) it was the only birth control that didn’t interact with my psych meds.
Today I've gotten my fourth? (I'm beginning to lose track) positive test while having a paragard inserted. The first bfp came around 3.5 years ago. We chose to have the iud removed and I miscarried about a week later. I did not go back on paragard for another 2 years because we ended up pregnant again after I'd had it removed for about a year.

25 Νοε 2015 · Four months post Paragard insertion, and I love it. I have had a child, so the insertion for me felt like nothing. They cut the strings too short on the initial IUD, had to remove it, and insert another, and I still felt nothing. I cramped like crazy the first few days, but I knew to expect this.
