First, check the Application Status column to determine the current status of your application. Status definitions are included below. Second, click “Track Progress” under the Comments column to determine the specific follow-up required for your application.
A final check is required before the status changes to “Awaiting Evaluation.” If this status does not update after a short period of time, please contact PDE by calling 717-PaTeach (717-728-3224).
The Pennsylvania Department of Education Division of Certification Services oversees educator certification within the commonwealth. All of the information and resources for becoming a certified educator in Pennsylvania are available via the navigation boxes below.
Complete your Educator Preparation program at Temple. Apply on TIMS AND Submit a Request for Recommendation Form to the Certification Office. Your TIMS Application Status will say: Waiting for Educ. or Work Exp. Verification. Temple University is your Institute of Higher Education - IHE.
Educational Entity: Employment data as of school year 2023-2024 for public educational entities only. OR. Enter Professional Personnel ID (PPID): Application status can only be searched by PPID.
Visit the TIMS page and provide all the information on the online form. After you pay and submit your application in TIMS, you will be provided the link to print your application cover sheet. The cover sheet provides complete instruction on submitting your documents to PDE.
