Preheat the oven to 180°C/gas mark 4, and grease and line the baking pan. Cream the butter and the sugar together. Mix together the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Add the eggs to the butter and sugar, alternating with the dry ingredients until used up, then add in the milk.
