UNDERSTANDING POLYESTER RESIN PROCESSING • Where does polyester resin fit on the composites landscape? • Most commonly used matrix for thermoset composites • Advantages • Economical • Flexible cure process • Fast cure time • Disadvantages • Lower material properties than alternatives (epoxy) • Low Tg • Health and safety issues
11 Απρ 2024 · Environmental attributes related to bio-based polymers trigger a steadily growing interest in this novel and promising field. Due to their importance among thermosets in terms of composite applications and quantity, this review focusses on epoxy and unsaturated polyester resins.
23 Φεβ 2022 · This paper investigates novel routes for the development of biobased thermoset polyester resins from raw materials derived from renewable sources.
4 Απρ 2024 · In industrial applications, a polymer resin is required to satisfy multiple conflicting properties. For containers, they must be heat-resistant while being moldable. Heat resistance can be evaluated by the glass-transition temperature (Tg) and moldability by the softening point (SP).
The polyester resin is a viscous liquid resin resulting from the condensation reaction between a glycol and an unsaturated dibasic acid. This polymer contains a double bond between its carbon atoms (C C) and is characterized by its clear pale yellow color.
21 Ιουν 2004 · About this book. Provides an overview of the family of polyester polymers which comprise an important group of plastics that span the range of commodity polymers to engineering resins. It describes the preparation, properties and applications of polyesters.
7 Απρ 2021 · Herein, the aim was to highlight recent developments in the catalytic chemical recycling of two commercial polyesters, namely poly (lactic acid) (PLA) and poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET).
