6 Μαΐ 2024 · OTTAWA – Canada Post’s proposed postage rate increase takes effect today. For stamps purchased in a booklet, coil or pane, which represent most stamp sales, the rate increases by seven cents, to 99 cents per stamp. The price of a single domestic stamp increases to $1.15, up from $1.07.
The changes will go into place today, Monday, September 12, 2022. The price increase is due to rising costs related to processing and delivery, and the need to serve more addresses. During their peak season (October 31, 2022 to January 15, 2023) additional surcharges will also be adjusted.

Why did rates increase? Rate increases are needed to ensure that we can continue to meet our service obligations to Canadians and address our financial pressures so that they do not become a burden on taxpayers.
