First I tried 1.16.5, so I could at least play with some mods until the problem fixes itself. Updated without any issues. Then I tried 1.20 to work my way down the list to find the latest version I could in theory play.

16 Μαΐ 2024 · Go to the Xbox app and install the minecraft launcher through there. then go to C:/XboxGames and you might find the Minecraft Launcher folder. If it's there, go to that folder and then Content, open the file minecraft.exe.

2 Νοε 2021 · Solved the problem for me it seems. I also discovered how to fix it through xbox app, so basically the launcher needs to install on the same drive as Windows (so on Drive C) when I did the install from Xbox app I always changed the directory of launcher other than drive C.
3 Νοε 2021 · Even though you say your Windows is updated to the latest version, if you're getting the error 0x80131509 then it's highly likely you aren't running the latest Windows 10 build. The latest build is version 1903 (OS Build 18362.175).
