30 Οκτ 2016 · The absolute best way is to replace the entire steel line. When this isn't possible, use as much steel as you can and as little fuel injection rated hose as possible. The issue with rubber hose is that it will seep fuel if the outside of the steel line is rusty or has a rough uneven surface.
I need to rebuild the injector harness on an old vehicle using Y-splices on the wire to reduce cable usage/lengths (V12 engine). My question now is how to to the Y-splice on the wires. Seems to be discouraged for automotive use, because stranded wire gets stiff and breaks under vibration.
4 Νοε 2016 · You need to use EFI rated fuel line, and preferably the TPFE lined type like the Gates Barricade fuel line, but this fuel line is fairly expensive. You would also want to use good hose clamps that do not cut into the outer hose.
8 Φεβ 2016 · There is absolutely zero pressure in the fuel line leading to a mechanical fuel pump. You can use a piece of fuel hose with hose clamps to connect those steel lines although it's best to have a bump flare on the steel it isn't really required when the pressure is zero.
