This tool allows students (commercial schools driver education or high school driver education) to check their eligibility to apply for a driver's license, having completed a requisite driver education course.
If you are age 15-17, you must be enrolled in, or 30 days prior to active participation in, an approved driver education course. Your permit must be used in the behind-the-wheel portion of the driver education course when an adult instructor is sitting beside you.
Effective July 1, 2014 Public Act 98-167 requires Illinois driver’s license applicants ages 18, 19, or 20, who have never previously been licensed or completed an approved driver education course, to complete a six hour Adult Driver Education Course.
