10 Φεβ 2023 · By far, the most destructive tsunamis are generated from large, shallow earthquakes with an epicenter or fault line near or on the ocean floor. These usually occur in regions of the earth characterized by tectonic subduction along tectonic plate boundaries.
To understand the mechanism of the landslide and its generated tsunami wave in this study, we used the integrated 3D simulation models (LS-RAPID and LS-Tsunami) developed by Sassa and his colleagues (Sassa et al. 2010, 2014, 2016).
28 Μαΐ 2020 · Landslide-induced waves are one of the most disastrous hazards that can post a great threat to human lives and properties. At about 4:00 pm, 5 November 2017, a landslide-induced tsunami-like wave suddenly occurred across the Truong river in Bac Tra My District, Quang Nam province, Vietnam.
Quang Nam province is one of the areas in Viet Nam that are most likely to be affected by tsunamis. The Government has invested in building multi-purpose disaster warning stations (including tsunami warning stations) in the province to reduce the possible impact of tsunamis.

To actively respond to the risk of tsunamis, the Government of Viet Nam has focused on tsunami warning and response for coastal communities by implementing several solutions, evacuation plans, and measures at all levels of government and in schools and coastal towns.
