26 Αυγ 2024 · Since the PlayStation 4 (PS4) isn’t backwards-compatible, users with PlayStation 3 (PS3) games are unable to insert PS3 discs into the PS4 console or re-download PS3 games from PlayStation Network to play on the PS4.
Sony doesn't need help getting PS3 games to run. They did it before on the PS3. Emulating the PS1 and emulating the PS3 are very different things. Also, Sony's PS Classic was using PCSX to emulate PS1, so even if they can do it by themselves, it doesn't mean they will. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxLg1K_YmE4
23 Οκτ 2023 · Unfortunately, the PS4 is not natively backwards compatible with PS3 games, meaning that you can’t just insert a PS3 disc into your PS4 and expect it to work. However, there are some ways to play PS3 games on your PS4, either by streaming them online or by downloading them from the PlayStation Store.
Hello from more than a year ago! did anyone end up working out how to show the games on the PS3 BIOS? Would be nicer to be able to run games from the BIOS rather than the emulator page
22 Αυγ 2023 · The answer, unfortunately, is a definitive no. The PlayStation 4 does not support backward compatibility with PlayStation 3 games. This means that inserting a PS3 disc into your PS4 will yield no results. Even downloading digital versions of your beloved PS3 classics from the PlayStation Store onto your PS4 is an endeavor doomed to failure.
22 Ιαν 2024 · There is no direct way to play PS3 games on a PS4, as the PS4 lacks the necessary hardware to do so. In addition, Sony felt it wasn’t worth developing an emulator to handle the older titles. Simply put, physical PS3 media will not work on PS4.
