No, but usually usb drives are backwards compatible and can work in usb 1.0 and 2.0 ports. The PlayStation3 is forwards compatible with USB 3.0 devices, but since the PS3 is a 2.0 compliant, the device will be accepted, although it will not operate at USB 3.0 speeds, but rather at 2.0 ones.
