The first part of TF-CBT is teaching kids and parents what trauma symptoms look like. Just learning that trauma can cause changes in a child’s mood, thoughts, and behavior can make kids and parents feel better.
Work with your child’s healthcare provider and school to create a treatment plan. Reach out for support from local community services. Being in touch with other parents who have a child with PTSD may be helpful.
