11 Σεπ 2022 · Following a review of the evidence pertaining to these two questions, we reflect on the value of studying political ideology with young children and highlight possible directions for future research with children in this domain, and in political psychology more broadly.
What is public opinion, what factors cause it to form in particular ways, and why does it matter? In this chapter, we define public opinion as opinions on matters of public debate that have significant implications for society. Then, we provide an overview of key developments in three central topics in research on public opinion.

Almost every aspect of our lives is impacted by public policy. Public policy is broadly defined as the laws, regulations, course of action, and funding priorities issued by the government to address a social issue at the local, state, and national levels.
