The purpose of this study was to better understand the muscular anatomy of the ventricular folds (VF) to help improve biomechanical modeling of phonation and to better understand the role of these muscles during phonatory and non-phonatory tasks.
Most illustrations, anatomical plate dissections, endoscopic and micro-scopic pictures, and imaging demonstrations were revisited for the purposes of this second edition. This allows us to better highlight normal middle ear anatomical details, congenital abnormalities, and conflictual pathological presentations.
