These seven basic quality control tools, which introduced by Dr. Ishikawa, are : 1) Check sheets; 2) Graphs (Trend Analysis); 3) Histograms; 4) Pareto charts; 5) Cause-and-effect diagrams; 6) Scatter diagrams; 7) Control charts.

It describes the objective, rules, background and importance of each tool.
Ishikawa promoted the notion of 7 basic tools that could be used to address quality. Designed for manufacturing environments, but applicable to engineering & management. There are other very useful tools: Templates, workflow automation. Pie charts and other graphical representations.
