Join one of the set tours of City Hall! At noon on the second and fourth Wednesday, from April 10, 2024 to October 23, 2024, you can come along for a guided City Hall tour that includes a climb up into the bell tower. Space is limited and sign-up is required.
Our tour begins in historic downtown Milwaukee. We’ll view the stately City Hall building, completed in 1895, and the landmark Pabst Theater, as we make our way down to the water. We will walk along the river and might even catch a glimpse of a bronze casting of a 70’s TV hero.
City Tours. Whether guided by knowledgeable locals or experienced through self-guided itineraries, these tours typically showcase Milwaukee's iconic attractions like the Milwaukee RiverWalk and the historic Third Ward district bustling with shops and restaurants.
The Milwaukee City Hall building is a very photogenic building with lots of terra cotta details and fascinating architecture. You can access the common areas of the building during normal working hours and view the unique atrium and mosaic tile floors on the main level.
The following tours range from free to $10/ticket. Ticket fees help offset the cost of ticketing software and support the organization that brings you Doors Open. Municipal tours are free but reservations are required.
Your tour begins when you meet your guide and your group in front of City Hall, an easy-to-find landmark in the middle of downtown Milwaukee. Take a short walk to the Pabst Theater, named for Milwaukee's historic hometown hero of beer, and then board a bus for the driving portion of the tour.
