Rtools 4.3 is best tested on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2022. It is sometimes tested on Windows 11 and expected to work there well because of Windows backward compatibility.

5 Απρ 2024 · If you have a source package that is known to work on a Unix-alike system, you can try the automated Windows binary package builder documented at https://win-builder.R-project.org. The native (default) builds of R 4.4.0 for Windows on ARM only install packages from source.
By default, R for Windows installs the precompiled “binary packages” from CRAN, for which you do not need Rtools. To use rtools, download the installer from CRAN: On Windows 64-bit: rtools40-x86_64.exe (includes both i386 and x64 compilers).
Download and Install R. Windows: go to https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/ click the “Download R 4.4.1 for Windows” link. When the file finishes downloading, double-click to install. You should be able to just click “Next” to all dialogs to finish the installation. Mac: Go to https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/macosx/
Rtools44 for Windows. Rtools is a toolchain bundle used for building R packages from source (those that need compilation of C/C++ or Fortran code) and for building R itself. Rtools44 is currently used for R 4.4 and R-devel, the development version of R, to become R 4.5.0.
