After watching some you tube videos done by radio amateurs, I decided to buy SA7000. I am aware this is NOT an active antenna. The HF performance is below of anything comparable and it's a big disappointment. I connected the antenna (3m above ground) with 30 m RG-213 to various ICOM transceivers.
Having owned several different Uniden and Radio Shack scanners over the years, I've found the new AOR 8200 MKIII beats them all hands down. Superior performance above even the better base scanners makes this handheld a definite winner!
10 Ιαν 2016 · For US scanner enthusiasts, the AR-DV1 will not replace a high end P25 phase I and II scanner with much faster scanning speeds. But the AR-DV1 certainly fills in the gaps for those who want NXDN, DMR, and other digital modes, without the inconvenience of a computer/DSD+ setup (which I fully admit works quite well).
As it now is quite a few generations old, this receiver is suprisingly good. Quick scan, better selectivity than most new China made plastic boxes (all new rx no matter what the label says) and definitely most SDR-based receivers in the low and middle price segments.
22 Μαρ 2018 · Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Dave Zantow (N9EWO), who has recently posted his review of the AOR AR-DV1 digital voice receiver. As with many of Dave’s reviews, this evaluation takes a close look at HF and mediumwave performance which isn’t the AR-DV1’s strong suit.
The AR-DV10 is a highly advanced multi-mode, SDR hand-held receiver that supports both digital and analog modes. Its wideband reception range of 100kHz - 1300MHz allows for versatile signal monitoring on the go. Notable features include multi-mode digital demodulation (excluding Tetra), all-mode analogue reception, fast memory scan, fast ...
Most scanner antennas are a compromise. Normally a coil in an antenna is to "separate" the eliments such as with a half over a quarter wave dual band 2m/440. Same effect with a receiver.
